Great news: our research project on the use of cryoanalgesia in cases of minimally invasive pectus excavatum repair (MIRPE) which will be developed at Instituto do Coração – InCor HCFMUSP has been approved by our IRB committee.
The use of cryo seems to be a good solution for analgesia in cases of MIRPE and the new probe of the device that will be used in the study, manufactured by METRUM CRYOFLEX seems to be well suited for this procedure, improving patient outcomes.
Many people collaborated to develop the study, it is impossible to mention everyone, but I have to especially thank Prof. Paulo Manuel Pêgo Fernandes, Head of Thoracic Surgery for his constant encouragement during this initial phase of the protocol. We would also like to thank Novelty Ortopedia Importadora e Distribuidora for the partnership that is making the project a reality.
We are excited to start the study!
